Paradigm Engineering
Chief Executive Officer
In August of 2022 I was able to convince 8 of my friends to take on an extra curricular project with me, with the intention of pursuing our shared passion for robotics and autonomous racing. They agreed, and together we founded a new student design team now called Paradigm Engineering. Since being established, here are a few things I have done with the Paradigm Team as the Chief Executive Officer:
Project Management Aspect
- Led the team to a 9th place finish out of over 20 teams at the 2022 F1Tenth Competition in San Antonio, Texas. Meeting all competition and financial targets.
- Strategically built a collaborative and inclusive team dynamic that has grown Paradigm Engineering to over 50 members, making us the largest student-led organization at Memorial University.
- Guided mechanical, electrical, software, and business sub-teams, understanding and utilizing the skill-sets of it's members, increasing efficiency and maintaining an aggressive project timeline.
- Successfully raised over $30,000 in external funding through effective communication skills and technical knowledge.
Technical Aspect
- Implementing a SLAM algorithm with depth camera and GPS data using the ROS2 navigation stack to be deployed on an autonomous electric racing go-kart.
Creating a Gazebo simulation environment for testing of SLAM, path planning, head to head racing tactics, and object detection
- Wrote complex reactive driving algorithms using LiDAR data, ROS, Python and PID control to race a modified RC car in time trail and head-to-head match ups.
